Meet the Berkeley Lab HR Shared Services Team!
Wade Crosson is the Division Deputy who oversees HR Shared Services, Assurance, and Compliance at Berkeley Lab and is very pleased to lead a team of dedicated professionals who continuously strive to deliver high quality services to our scientific and operations customers. Wade founded the HR Shared Services operation in 2011 as a major efficiency, operational effectiveness, and process improvement initiative for the Human Resources organization. With this effort, we have successfully transformed, consolidated, and transitioned many previously de-centralized high-volume processes to the HR Shared Services team. Wade joined Berkeley Lab in 2003 and, prior to launching HR Shared Services, worked for 8 years as a Senior HR Division Partner supporting the Environment, Health and Safety Division, Laboratory Directorate, and Public Affairs. “It is an honor to be a part of the Berkeley Lab community and I am proud to contribute to its mission of bringing science solutions to the world. I am thankful for the people I get to work with everyday, and appreciative of the strong partnerships with customers, HR colleagues, and fellow Operations experts in pursuit of this goal. My team and I look forward to leveraging these partnerships and focusing on continuous improvement to meet our customers’ evolving needs”.
Annette Chan is the HR Manager of Shared Services. She joined in March 2018 and manages the HR Shared Services team. Her prior experience includes managing on-site and remote staff and collaborating with various other HR teams to deliver high quality service to its employees. She brings a wide array of knowledge in the areas of Recruiting, Recruiting Operations, Vendor/Client Relationships, Immigration and Affirmation Action. She is excited to lead a team dedicated to providing the best employee experience and customer service to Berkeley Lab and its partners. tamar-veredTamar Vered is the Supervisor of the International Researchers and Scholars Office (IRSO), which provides visa and immigration services to Berkeley Lab’s international visitors, supervisors and employees, representing many countries around the globe. She is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the team’s operations, as well as visa processing, providing advisement, and driving projects and processes to enhance IRSO’s effectiveness. Tamar has been supporting visa and immigration needs at Berkeley Lab since 2013. She enjoys supporting Berkeley Lab’s visa and immigration needs so that the international visitors and employees can focus their time supporting the greater mission of bringing science solutions to the world.
Picture1Rosalin Chung is the Lead HR Shared Services Specialist who handles a range of services including hires, onboarding, and appointment management of employees, affiliates, and contract workers. She leads training for HR Shared Services on HR applications and processes and also works on various projects around process development and optimization while closely collaborating with cross-functional teams. Rosalin joined Berkeley Lab in 2016, and she enjoys working with HR experts to help streamline the HR operations and provide exceptional service to clients. Larry_GuoLarry Li Guo is a Senior Visa Services Advisor for the International Researchers and Scholars Office. He is responsible for primarily J-1 and H1B visa applications and case management for his client divisions, including foreign employees’ new hire, extension, change of status, and transfer. Larry has been supporting HR-related client needs at Berkeley Lab since 1999. He enjoys delivering professional visa consultation and providing critical immigration services to his responsible divisions, employees, and their supervisors and HR partners.
Meghan_JohnstonMeghan Johnson is a HR Shared Services Specialist. She manages and coordinates new hire onboarding, parts of the affiliate process, years of service and other HR processes. Meghan has been a part of Berkeley Lab Human Resources since 2008, working in various divisions before being a part of the team who founded the HR Shared Services Center in 2011. She really enjoys being a part of the onboarding process and meeting new hires and affiliates on their first day as well as being a point of contact for assistance beyond their first day. It is her goal to ensure that the processes are as smooth and efficient of a transition as possible for new hires and affiliates. Hunter Paul is a Visa Advisor in the International Researchers and Scholars Office (IRSO). Hunter specializes in H-1Bs, J-1s, O-1s, E-3s, TNs, and green card cases (i.e., PERM, EB-1A Alien of Extraordinary Ability, EB-1B Outstanding Researcher, EB-2 National Interest Waiver, and Adjustments of Status). Hunter is responsible for full life-cycle case management for his divisions, including new hire onboarding, extensions, changes of status, and transfers. He enjoys advising foreign nationals, HR partners, and hiring managers and finding creative solutions for complex immigration challenges. Hunter has been supporting the lab’s immigration needs since 2021.
Anastassya Pierson is an HR Shared Services Specialist who handles affiliate and employee hire requests, and affiliate inquiries among other processes. She joined the HR Shared Services team in Spring 2020 and strives to provide the best service possible to Berkeley Lab.
Ashanti Lovelace-Jones is an HR Shared Services Assistant working on a range of HR services including contract labor, affiliate process, appointment extensions, employee exits, and non-recruited hire requests. She joined the HR Shared Services team in October 2015, and brings with her a wide range of HR knowledge and experience. She is excited to be part of the HR Shared Services team, and is committed to providing excellent service to our Berkeley Lab customers.
Kirsta Rodriguez-McKee is an HR Shared Services Assistant who focuses on processing employee extensions, leading the employee I-9 process, and guiding affiliates through onboarding. She joined the HR Shared Services team in January 2022 and is excited to work alongside team members who are as dedicated to helping others as she is.
Michelle Chan is an HR Service Center Assistant who handles employee hire-only requests, terminations and exits, and the employee I-9 process, among other HR needs. After graduating from Boston University, she first joined the Lab as an HR Shared Services Assistant contractor in May 2021 and rejoined the team in September 2023, bringing a broad range of insightful recruitment and talent acquisition experience to her current role. Her goal is to always use an empathetic, reliable, and strategic approach to ensure a smooth recruiting and onboarding experience for Berkeley Lab hires.
Kelly Jou is an HR Service Center Assistant who assists in the affiliate and I-9 process along with handling affiliate extensions, terminations, and inquiries as well as employee terminations. Joining the HR Shared Services team in July 2021, Kelly is committed to bolstering Berkeley Lab’s organizational efficiency through dedicated support.
